Peterborough Take Note Community Choir began its life in 2013 when a group of people decided it was time to bring the experience of singing to everyone in our city.

We have an open recruitment policy which just means everyone is welcome and you don’t need to audition – we believe that singing should be fun. Having said this we do expect members to work hard to produce a high standard of performance that we can all be proud of.

We have over 60 members and are happy to welcome more.  Our performances range from small charity carol-singing performances to full scale concerts and you can take part in as much or as little as you want to – but be warned if singing in a big concert isn’t your thing maybe you will be roped in to lead the cheering instead!  Our music, chosen by our MD and choir members, reflects the diversity of the membership. In Ten years, we have tackled songs from the musicals, traditional and classical choral music, folk tunes, Requiems by Verdi & Fauré, ballads and a contemporary Christmas piece never performed in England before. We have sung in Peterborough Cathedral on a number of occasions.

We support our members to progress at their own speed so whether you have loads of experience or are brand new to singing we will be there for you.  There are opportunities in our concerts for some solo parts. We’ve even had a workshop singing at the famous Abbey Road Studios.

We have regular weekly rehearsals, one-off workshops and hold at least two concerts each year. If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact our Members’ Secretary, Sheila, on 07907 166834 or contact us.
