DESCRIPTION:Rehearsal 2-4.30pm (chorus registration from 1.15pm)\nPerformance 6-7pm \nThe Big Sing is a major focus of this season’s programme for the New Cambridge Singers. This event brings together singers from all over the region and allows to us to raise significant funds for our charity partner – this year we are working with CPSL Mind.  New Cambridge Singers would like to invite your choir’s members to come and take part\, and I hope you can forward this e mail to them to encourage them to join us. \nGraham Walker will be directing the massed choir and the Sinfonia of Cambridge in Fauré’s Requiem\, as well as his Cantique de Jean Racine and Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus. Three much loved works\, which many of you will know. \nAt our last Big Sing\, we had over 400 singers and NCS was able to donate £7000 for Macmillan Cancer Care. This year we are hoping to raise a similar amount for CPSL Mind. As a choral singer you will be well aware of the fantastic benefit singing together brings to our mental well-being\, and so we are thrilled that this singing event will be able to raise money for such a relevant cause. CPSL Mind is the local mental health charity for Cambridgeshire\, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire with whom NCS has been working for the past season. Whilst much of the work of CPSL Mind is funded by the public health authorities\, we want to help them raise money for the vital extra costs of The Sanctuary. This provides a safe place for individuals experiencing an emotional or mental health crisis\, who are over the age of 16. DESCRIPTION:Choir members only. \nWe will be having a party to celebrate\, with wine\, soft drinks and snacks. If any of you are able to bring something small to share\, some sausage rolls for example it would be much appreciated.   It’s time to dust off your party pieces\, get out your guitars and ukuleles and prepare to entertain!! You can sing anything you like\, solos or groups\, so get together to make a fun night. \nAdam may be able to accompany you but it would help if you could give him any music in advance! \n

DESCRIPTION:Tickets (adult £10\, Concessions £9 and Children £5) available from choir members or by contacting us. \nChoir members: Running order for the day:\n12:00pm – Helpers to set up tables for raffle\, programme and ticket selling\, refreshments etc.\n1:00 to 3:00pm – Rehearsal for everyone. Finishing at 3:00 gives people a chance to get home\, relax and eat before the concert.\n6:15pm – All members back for run through rehearsal with Ken Stimpson choirs.\n7:00pm – Front doors open to public so helpers need to be in place\n7:30pm – Concert begins
