Käthe is a recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Upstate New York, where she received both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in organ performance following studies with David Higgs, Edoardo Bellotti and William Porter. During the year between the two degrees, she served as Organ Scholar at Truro Cathedral, where she worked with Christopher Gray, Luke Bond and Simon Jacobs and also accompanied Truro Choral Society. A native of Chicago, Käthe grew up as a chorister at St. Luke’s Parish Church in Evanston, Illinois, and began her organ studies there in 2007.
Käthe has performed for the American radio programme Pipedreams Live!, as well as in venues around the United States and the UK. An Associate of the American Guild of Organists, she has received numerous awards, including the Gerald Barnes Award for Excellence in Pipe Organ (2013), the inaugural VanDelinder Prize in Liturgical Organ Skills (2014), first place in the West Chester University International Organ Competition (2015), and second prize in the Fox Valley AGO Competition (2018). Before coming to Peterborough, Käthe worked as Organ Scholar at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Rochester, New York.
